{"id":18658,"date":"2018-07-09T15:30:47","date_gmt":"2018-07-09T14:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.buyassociation.co.uk\/?p=18658"},"modified":"2018-07-09T15:30:47","modified_gmt":"2018-07-09T14:30:47","slug":"enterprise-city-a-new-district-in-manchester-that-will-bring-10000-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-au\/news\/enterprise-city-a-new-district-in-manchester-that-will-bring-10000-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Enterprise City: a new district in Manchester that will bring 10,000 jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The first phase of Manchester&#8217;s new business district has been revealed, and is set to massively expand the city and attract even more young professionals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four new projects are planned for the new Enterprise City development, which will be centred around the old Granada Studios near Castlefield towards the west of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/07\/05\/finding-property-with-parking-in-manchester-no-longer-priority-for-investors\/\">Manchester city centre<\/a>, led by investment from property firm Allied London.<\/p>\n<p>The development is part of the major St John&#8217;s masterplan, which will be a neighbourhood containing 560,000 square feet of office space, 240,000 square feet of retail, 320 hotel rooms and 13 acres of public space, as well as new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/06\/26\/why-city-centre-living-is-now-more-popular-than-ever-in-the-uk\/\">residential accommodation<\/a> attracting thousands of new inhabitants to the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>According to its website, Enterprise City will be the &#8220;commercial heartbeat&#8221; of St John&#8217;s, creating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/06\/25\/finding-work-now-top-reason-for-moving-house-especially-for-millennials\/\">places to work<\/a>, stay, eat, drink and shop to reconfigure &#8220;how we do business in the 21st century&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on its new updated vision, Allied London chief executive Michael Ingall said: &#8220;We aim to connect modern industries within a new cluster of creativity, opportunity and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/03\/01\/major-regeneration-planned-northern-quarter-salford\/\">innovation<\/a>. On completion, Enterprise City will create 10,000 jobs in Manchester, promoting diversity in industry and ensuring the city can attract and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/01\/12\/graduates-staying-after-university-cities-investment-opportunity\/\">retain the talent<\/a> it needs to develop even further.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clusters don\u2019t just pop up anywhere, they develop where an environment enables activity to thrive. Enterprise City is driven by the intention to create a wide and diverse series of spaces and facilities that will support modern industries and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/03\/16\/commercial-property-lending-expected-to-rise-despite-brexit-concerns\/\">companies<\/a> of all sizes, from SME\u2019s through to large-scale growing and expanding businesses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h4>The four new areas<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The ABC Buildings have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/05\/21\/solving-uks-empty-homes-problem-ease-housing-crisis\/\">empty<\/a> for almost 10 years and were going to be demolished, but will now be refurbished while keeping their original 1960s architecture and design.<\/li>\n<li>The Bonded Warehouse is a Victorian construction that used to be a terminus linking Manchester and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2018\/07\/02\/low-purchase-price-key-to-getting-best-buy-to-let-yields-for-landlords\/\">Liverpool<\/a>, and will now be converted into a new tech and workspace destination as a &#8220;central pillar&#8221; of Enterprise City<\/li>\n<li>The Department is another new workspace that will house Manchester&#8217;s technology hub, inviting new start-ups and growing tech businesses to use the space within.<\/li>\n<li>All Studios is an existing company within the Old Granada Studios set up last year by Allied London, with more than 100,000 square feet of TV and film studios.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first phase of Manchester&#8217;s new business district has been revealed, and is set to massively expand the city and attract even more young professionals.
