Whilst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/09\/february-house-price-index-supply-remains-close-record-lows\/\" target>supply has increased<\/a> by 6% across the country and by 9% in the capital, the numbers are still down by 20.8% compared to one year ago. <\/p>\n<p>Demand from new buyers increased by 0.2%, is however also down by 29.7% year-on-year. In actual numbers this still means <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/28\/uk-property-every-house-now-got-11-hunters\/\" target>11 buyers are chasing every single property available<\/a> on the market. <\/p>\n<p>The report furthermore revealed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/02\/20\/tenants-afraid-losing-homes\/\" target>number of new tenants<\/a> entering the market dropped by 8.3% in May and fell annually by 34.7%. The buy-to-let market experienced a similar decrease. The number of new landlords registering in the UK as well as the number of buy-to-let sales fell slightly. <\/p>\n<p>Paul Smith, chief executive officer at haart, commented: \u201cThe UK property market is showing signs of improvement. Stock of new homes for sale has increased by almost 6% across the UK and by a huge 9% on the month in London. And although it remains a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/03\/27\/every-third-first-time-buyer-banks-mum-dad\/\" target>tough market for first time buyers<\/a> who have seen their deposits rise again this month, we saw an 11% increase in new buyers looking to take their first step onto the ladder in May.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"4KG7olKFZG\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/22\/majority-uks-landlords-tenants-like\/\">Majority of UK\u2019s landlords and tenants like each other<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Majority of UK\u2019s landlords and tenants like each other&#8221; &#8212; BuyAssociation Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/22\/majority-uks-landlords-tenants-like\/embed\/#?secret=vkaTfB8IJ2#?secret=4KG7olKFZG\" data-secret=\"4KG7olKFZG\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Smith is also predicting a boost in the market, starting after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buyassociationgroup.com\/en-gb\/2017\/05\/15\/general-election-2017-can-theresa-may-actually-generation-rent\/\" target>General Election<\/a>, as consumer confidence usually increases during the post-election political honeymoon period. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt is obvious that the desire for people to own their own home or move up the ladder is as strong as ever.
