Research by\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Totally<\/span><\/b>\u00a0Money has\u00a0<\/span><\/b>revealed<\/span><\/b>\u00a0the best\u00a0<\/span><\/b>places to live and commute into\u00a0<\/span><\/b>London<\/span><\/b>,<\/span><\/b>\u00a0with Hertfordshire\u00a0<\/span><\/b>coming out on top<\/span><\/b>\u00a0as\u00a0<\/span><\/b>London\u2019s best commuter hotspot for 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The study looked at<\/span>\u00a01<\/span>16 commuter belt towns<\/a><\/span>\u00a0specifically<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>investigat<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0average house prices,\u00a0<\/span>length of\u00a0<\/span>train<\/span>\u00a0journey<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>average<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>cost of a season ticket<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and ONS data on resident satisfaction<\/span>. Using this\u00a0<\/span>data,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>they<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>identified<\/span>\u00a0the top places to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>consider<\/span>\u00a0if you<\/span>\u2019re looking to live outside the city and commute\u00a0<\/span>in for<\/span>\u00a0work.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n H<\/span>old<\/span>ing<\/span>\u00a0six of the top ten commuter hotspot positions<\/span>\u00a0are\u00a0<\/span>Hertfordshire towns\u00a0<\/span>Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Hatfield,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Broxbourne<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Watford Junction<\/span>\u00a0and Hemel\u00a0<\/span>Hempstead<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With a\u00a0<\/span>26-minute<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>journey<\/span>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>Liverpool<\/a> Street, an average season ticket cost of \u00a32,288<\/span>\u00a0(the fourth cheapest)<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>an\u00a0<\/span>average<\/span>\u00a0house price of \u00a3384,248<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Cheshunt<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>comes out at number one<\/span>.\u00a0 However,\u00a0<\/span>neighbouring\u00a0<\/span>Waltham Cross\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>a close second with a\u00a0<\/span>28-minute<\/span>\u00a0commute and an average house price of \u00a3390, 612.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In fact,<\/span>\u00a0all six of the Hertfordshire towns in the top ten boast a commute of under 35 minutes<\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span>Cheshunt, Waltham Cross<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0Broxbourne<\/span>\u00a0and Hatfield all score high<\/span>ly for lifestyle satisfaction.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Unsurprisingly with<\/span>\u00a0a 45 minute plus journey<\/span>, \u00a34,000 season ticket<\/span>\u00a0and an average property price of \u00a31.1 million,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Virginia Water in Surrey\u00a0<\/span>occupies the bottom of the list<\/span>\u00a0at number 11<\/span>6<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The top ten best places to live and commute into London<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hertfordshire may well dominate the top ten, but according to Totally Money if you want to balance house prices with\u00a0<\/span>accessibility<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0then Peterborough in Cambridgeshire is the place to\u00a0<\/span>be<\/span>. Despite only ranking 111 out of the 116<\/span>, average house prices are\u00a0<\/span>just<\/span>\u00a0\u00a3194,885<\/span>, which\u00a0<\/span>could\u00a0<\/span>offset\u00a0<\/span>the 51-minute commute to Kings Cross St Pancras and \u00a38,000 season ticket.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With\u00a0<\/span>no sign of\u00a0<\/span>London property prices and living costs falling<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>homebuyers and buy to let landlords<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>looking\u00a0<\/span>to buy outside the city\u00a0<\/span>and retain easy access to the capital<\/span>\u00a0and all it has to offer<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>are sure to<\/span>\u00a0benefit from this insight.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n
